Choklet is a complete chocolate tasting experience, it’s like wine tasting, but with chocolate, and so much more. We are based in Cornwall and Choklet is the Cornish word for chocolate…

We are passionate about chocolate. We understand where it has come from, how it is made, and the many different tasting notes (yes, chocolate is just like wine). Our events are relaxed and fun and have been designed to find the perfect chocolate for you, and of course to help you find its perfect pairing with other foods and drinks.

Choklet Tasting Packages

You can pair chocolate with a surprising range of foods and drinks, and we’ve done the hard work so you don’t have too (yes, it was such a tough job eating all that gorgeous food and trying those delicious drinks). Below are our most popular tasting packages, but we also cater for most dietary needs, so be sure to let us know your requirements when booking.

Choklet Indulgence

Join us for a 90-minute guided chocolate exploration: an indulgent tasting journey into the world of bean-to-bar craft chocolate.

Your experience includes four full-size bars per person, beautifully presented tasting notes and flavour wheels, and expert guidance from Alison – holder of an International Chocolate Tasting Qualification and a member of The Chocolate Academy.

Alison brings the experience to you – simply book your date and settle in to enjoy.

Minimum group size of 6 people (if your group is smaller, please contact me via email to enquire, depending on your location I may be able to accommodate smaller groups).

Chocolate & Wine Pairing

Enjoy a two-hour, guided chocolate and wine pairing experience. An indulgent tasting designed to highlight how cocoa origin, texture and flavour notes can transform alongside carefully matched wines.

The package includes a curated selection of chocolate-and-wine pairings, full tasting notes and flavour wheels, and expert guidance from Alison throughout.

We’ll begin with a short introduction to tasting technique, then move through each pairing step-by-step, exploring aroma, balance, finish and personal preference – with time for questions and recommendations at the end.

Alison brings everything needed for the experience; a minimum of 14 days’ notice is needed to obtain the required alcohol permits.

The price includes four full-sized chocolate bars per person and four types of wine (full bottles, which are yours to keep) to pair with them.

Minimum group size is 6 people.

Rum & Chocolate Pairing

Savour a two-hour, guided rum and chocolate pairing experience. This package has been created to showcase how the richness and complexity of rum amplifies the unique flavour profiles of artisan chocolate. Guests will explore the interplay between rum’s spice, sweetness and finish, and the nuanced notes of cocoa from different origins.

The package features a hand-selected range of rum-and-chocolate pairings, detailed tasting notes, flavour wheels and expert guidance from Alison throughout. The session begins with an introduction to tasting technique, followed by a step-by-step journey through each pairing, with opportunities for questions and recommendations at the end.

The price includes four full-sized chocolate bars per person and four types of rum to pair with them. Each rum serving is 50 ml.

Alison supplies everything required for the event; please allow at least 14 days’ notice for alcohol permit arrangements.

Minimum group size is 6 people.

My Choklet Story

Hello, my name is Alison and it’s official… I love chocolate. It’s been a lifelong passion, starting when I used to spend all the ‘only in an emergency’ money mum gave me on chocolate! Over the years I’ve moved away from buying the cheapest bars from the corner shop, to being able to appreciate the delicious difference of bean-to-bar chocolate, and now I’ve been lucky enough to turn my love of chocolate into a business… read more

Bean-to-bar chocolate is exactly as it sounds. Our local, artisan makers source the best cocoa beans from farmers around the world and make them into the bars we use in our tasting experiences. The cocoa beans are roasted to create their intense flavours before raw cane sugar is added. These two natural, unrefined ingredients are stoneground into fine granules initially, then finer still into liquid chocolate. The chocolate is then aerated, kneaded and poured into the bar blocks. The bean-to-bar chocolate is then left to mature, which develops the intensity of the flavour.

My idea for Choklet came from wanting to work with this incredible bean-to-bar chocolate after I realised how amazing it can be when paired with artisan drinks and gourmet foods. It’s a new way to enjoy the true taste and flavour of chocolate and I am so excited to be able to share this with you.
